A heartiest greeting, a wish of peace be upon everyone from all of us at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as we heartfully welcome everyone to the 4th Malaysian Advances in Women’s Health Congress 2024!
It is with immense pride and a touch of awe that I stand before you today, not just as the Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, but as a fellow traveler on this extraordinary journey we call Womenhood. A journey marked by triumphs and tribulations, resilience and vulnerability, and an unwavering spirit that has propelled us to the forefront of every field imaginable.
This congress is a testament to that spirit. A vibrant confluence of knowledge, shared experiences, and a collective determination to redefine the landscape of women's health. Over the next few days, we will delve into the intricacies of the issues on Women’s Health, explore advancements in medical science and also not to forget mingle around with everyone with the same vision ‘to empower women’s health’.
The theme of this year's congress, "Enriching The Future Of Women’s Health," resembles our strong voice. It is a call to action, a resounding affirmation that progress in women's health can only be achieved through collaboration, through the collective wisdom of researchers, clinicians, policymakers, advocates, and most importantly, the women themselves.
But this congress is not merely about medical breakthroughs or academic discourse. It is about empowering women with the knowledge and agency to make informed choices about their bodies and their health. It is about dismantling the taboos and stigmas that have for too long shrouded women's health issues in silence.
